Welcome to Dramatis – we deliver drama with kindness, to help you thrive in life!
Set up in 2016 by Suzy Duxbury (ATCL), Dramatis a different type of drama school. Our Ethos is rooted in kindness because we believe this is key to getting the best out of our pupils and participants of all ages – ensuring success both on and off the stage.
With over fifteen years’ experience as a Trinity and LAMDA teacher, Suzy has a life-long passion for drama and first-hand experience in seeing how it can help people through life’s challenges.
We create a nurturing, inclusive and non-competitive environment to strengthen your unique characteristics and talents, and help you develop key life skills such as confidence, communication, empathy and self-expression.
Whilst there is never any pressure to perform, the encouraging atmosphere and sense of community soon increase confidence in pupils of all ages, and the majority choose to showcase what they’ve been working on.
Our Adult Programme includes Act Your Age (an in-person drama group that explores acting through script reading and drama-based games) and Plays and Pinot (an online play-reading group for those who enjoy literature and are keen to read modern and classic plays in a new way).
Our Youth Programme includes Drama Lessons (weekly lessons culminating in an end of term exam, class performance or school showcase) and Holiday Workshops (five days of drama-based games and activities resulting in a finale performance).
We also bring drama to the wider community with Performances (for local businesses and organisations) and Outreach Workshops (that see us use grant funding to deliver free wellbeing workshops that support disadvantaged adults and children).
Based in West Sussex, our Adult and Youth programmes run in Bognor Regis and Chichester (with our online Plays and Pinot sessions open to those further afield!)
